In 2011 EFB, Inc. proudly celebrated its 35th year anniversary. Since its inception in 1977, the company has been dedicated to improving air quality by delivering reliable electrostatic-based air pollution control technologies. First, with the commercialization of the Electrified Filter Bed™ (EFBR ) industrial particulate control system and now with introduction of the Healthy Air™ commercial indoor airborne pollutant and pathogen control system.
The fundamentals of EFB’s™ patented electrostatic-based technology were developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge Massachusetts by Dr. Karim Zahedi, the President of EFB, Inc. Beginning with a research proven concept, Dr. Zahedi led the effort to design over 100 full scale industrial systems in several global markets with a steady emphasis on and adherence to the fundamental theories of operation (www.EFB-INC.com).
Following years of exclusively focusing on the control of emissions from stationary industrial sources, EFB, Inc., in cooperation with Healthway Home Product Inc., has addressed the challenge of capturing and killing indoor airborne pollutants and pathogens. With increasing concerns over the dangers of indoor airborne pollutants and pathogens in sensitive environments such as hospitals, offices, schools, hotels, daycares, etc., the company took a value added approach and direction in developing and offering the Healthy Air™ series of indoor air quality control system. These highly efficient eHEPA™ (energized HEPA) based devices are specifically designed to capture and kill airborne pollutants and pathogens to effectively reduce the potential for the spread of airborne infections.
Similar in concept to the EFBR, the heart of the Healthy Air™ systems will be based on eHEPA TM technology, which incorporates an energized field with a traditional HEPA filter. HEPA-based technologies have long been a well established and proven filtration technology highly utilized in professional settings in both the high-technology and medical industries.
Unlike any other indoor air quality device, Healthy Air™ systems uniquely couple the effectiveness of traditional HEPA filters with the germicidal action of an imposed high energy field. The resulting system is one that is ideally suited to combat the transfer of infectious pathogens in the highly sensitive indoor environments such as health care facilities, universities and schools, hotels, airports and many other places where protection against airborne pollutants and pathogens is a matter of importance.
